This scheme was produced to enhance the Roman Road Conservation Area. The street façade was designed in a manner that integrated and contributed to the diverse streetscape without the self promotion of architectural content. The character of the immediate structures is of traditional and simplistic detailing and this project sought to promote that architectural theme. A particularly pleasing feature of the visual design for passer-by is via a painted metal bar gate to the residential "alley" which offers a passing view of the cobbled courtyard and features therein. This alternate view, once frequent to this section of Roman Road, is thus resumed to assist with the regeneration and interest in this Conservation Area. |
